Testimonials

The following testimonials are from families that I’ve worked with over the last 15 years.

Thank you for all you’ve done for both boys all these years. Your knowledge and experience provided a wonderful reassurance to me that they would stay on track to get where they belong. We’ll be in touch and let you know where ______ lands!

I think, simply put, the insight you provided was most helpful. You let me know what colleges were looking for, and you helped to shape me as the candidate that colleges were looking for.

I think that when it came to filling out information in CA you were very helpful because I always would know exactly what the college was looking for. Any doubt, uncertainty, or ambiguity was always answered when calling you—which was a nice resource to have. I also like your systematic way of analyzing colleges and looking at it empirically.

Thanks for everything. _______ got into every school he applied to except Vanderbilt. He got into Honors programs at University of Southern California (USC), Tulane, and Chapel Hill (maybe Villanova, too, I can’t remember). And he received two offers of merit scholarships—at Tulane and USC. We couldn’t be prouder of our boy and we are SO grateful to you for your wise guidance.

You have a system in place already, and it works extremely well, so it took a lot of stress out of the process for us to follow your procedures. Because you had this system in place, our son (and our family) could more easily focus on the most important things, like writing the essay or picking colleges, and less on how to get everything accomplished. That said, the system was very flexible in accommodating the students’ schedule or needs at particular times. Deadlines were important, but they could be changed.

I also really appreciated the fact that you listened to both my boys. You let them know your thoughts on certain subjects and you listened to theirs as well. Even when they maybe weren’t making the best choices, you listened to them and spoke to them as (almost) adults. I think that attitude toward them helped them feel respected and like they were an important part of the process.

Without you, we could not have made it through the whole process without major drama in our family! Seriously, working with you relieved a lot of pressure on individual relationships during a very stressful time.

For people who want a guide through the application process, and want to take some of the pressure off their relationship with their college-bound kid, it’s a terrific thing to do.

You helped most with the actual application process- helping us to break down how to get the many applications done, your essay brainstorming and sessions were amazing, your guidance on recommendations, your review of the essays- that was critical for us. Also, you helped us once we identified “what schools” – which were safeties, targets and reaches which really helped us navigate and prioritize.

You are accessible, knowledgeable, and on target.  Great advice and guidance. Particularly good with essay writing help, application strategy and follow-up, and application review. I think the best way to put it for us is that we “couldn’t have done it as well without you”.  Especially in understanding how everything works, essays, application details, etc. That you know your stuff, are very helpful and knowledgeable, provide excellent guidance in many areas, have great resources (like SAT/ACT diagnostic), and are easy to work with.

Lee,

We are most grateful for all of your support and guidance with __________, She is so excited – even for her! We are continuing to sing your praises to others!

We have already recommended you to several families because of our positive experience working with you. You were always very helpful and supportive.

Thank you so much for all your help. ____________ got accepted in Caltech. We all are very excited with the result as this was first EA decision. You have been an amazing support throughout this entire college application process. We sincerely appreciate your time and efforts.  2018

Lee – you are awesome!!  You have made the process so manageable and less stressful. Another acceptance for _____________ with a scholarship of at least $39,000. Very exciting: 2 for 2. Thanks again for all your help.  It’s really paying off 😄

Dear Lee,

I realized that I never actually thanked you for everything you’ve done to help me succeed. The college application process is very overwhelming and I would have never been able to complete it all on time without your organization and dedication. You gave me the opportunity to explore colleges and opportunities that I would have never found on my own. Not only that, but you also taught me the importance of meeting deadlines, completing quality work, and caring about my overall education. These habits will without a doubt follow me throughout college and hopefully throughout my life.  Thank you for showing me what it takes to unlock my potential and reach whatever goal I set for myself. Before I began working with you, I only completed the minimum work required to get by. I didn’t not care about my education at all, and had no desire to pursue knowledge. After completing this process, I’ve realized the importance of these things, along with hard work, and the effects have been very visible. My grades and attitude have changed tremendously. I am very grateful that you showed me what it takes to be an all-around better student. Thank you very much for your help, strict requirements and deadlines, and leniency with me as we ventured through the college admissions process.

We came into this process so uninformed about how this process worked and from top to bottom you showed us how to handle this complex situation and not only was the final product much better our stress level was reduced significantly knowing that we were completing a well thought out plan.

What was your least favorite part of working with me?

None – we really enjoyed it. I particularly liked how we made the transition from you, me and ____________at the beginning of the process to you and _________taking over and making this happen. Not only did it produce excellent work but it was a great learning experience for ___________.

How can I do a better job helping other students?

If other students have a similar experience to ours, I do not see how to make it better.

Would you recommend my services? Why?/Why Not?

Absolutely!! Yes! Essays, Course Selection! I think you are excellent at what you do! I truly appreciate how you helped us! I would definitely recommend you.  The essays would have been terrible without your help. I thought you were very helpful and knowledgeable.  You made a daunting process easy to manage and navigate.

And please feel free to use us as a reference.

What would you tell other people about your experience working with me?

That this process is multi-faceted and complex and Lee helped educate us and lead us through the minefield and we could not have done it without her.  The essay help was amazing! The applications are overwhelming and I could not have gotten through seven of them by myself or with my child!

Lee,

Please use us as a reference.  You were thorough, on-target, helpful, and essential.  Great value for the services you provided from SAT/ACT fit, tutor recommendations, direction on classes, college identification, brainstorming, essay writing, application help.  You name it, you were fantastic!  I think you also were able to get out of _______ info that we wouldn’t have – he thought more about his future, etc., when you asked than when we did – very valuable.

As this was my first child going to college, I needed help organizing the approach. Your materials helped us figure out which types of colleges were a good fit, how to evaluation them and how to approach them. You gave us a time frame within which to work and helped set goals. In addition, you helped my son appreciate that the application process was something he needed to take seriously. Because you provided external structure, it helped him to finish the multiple essays and other pieces of paperwork in a timely fashion.
